Since 1999 John has served as Chief Executive Officer. He brings over 22 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations with a focus on children with special needs. His work includes participation on various public policy and family advocacy efforts. John also served as Chairman of the Contra Costa Children and Families Commission (First Five Contra Costa) and as a board member for the Center for Community Benefit Organizations (CBO Center), plus the executive committee for the Contra Costa Human Services Alliance.
Prior to coming to We Care, John worked as the Director of Community Services for Lincoln Child Center in Oakland. While there, he developed school and community based mental health programs for children age 6-14. In his free time he coaches soccer coach and is a board member for the Delta Youth Soccer League. John has also been active in Catholic education and served 2 years on the school board for St. Peter Martyr School in Pittsburg and fundraising events for Holy Names High School in Oakland.
Barbara Langsdale

Barbara is Vice President of Marketing and Communications and is responsible for We Care’s resource development and volunteer programs. She began as a volunteer in 1990 helping with the 30th anniversary event. Barbara has served on the First Five Commission, is past Chairwoman of the Concord Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and a current board member. Barbara also is involved in Contra Costa Council’s Social Responsibility committee.
Rhonda Grossman

As Director of Finance and Operations, Rhonda Grossman oversees the organization’s finances, operations, human resources and IT needs. In 2010, she spearheaded the hiring of Arkin and Tilt Architects to create a sustainable master plan for the Kirker Pass location. With an extensive background in business management developed over the past twenty years, Rhonda worked at the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley previously as their Finance Director. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Sustainable Business Administration at Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Rhonda currently lives in Berkeley with her two children, two dogs and her husband, Bernardo Lopez, a landscape designer.
Darcie Azzolini, MA

As Director of Developmental Services, Darcie is in her 10th year helping address the needs of young children through her work at We Care. Starting with the agency as an intern, she now oversees all programs addressing developmental issues. A Contra Costa native, she has spent her career focused on early intervention and devoted to instilling a family focus throughout the services we offer.

Pete is the Mental Health Director at We Care overseeing all mental health programs including Home and Clinic and School-based services along with Wraparound. A Contra Costa native, Pete joined our agency in 2001 after various positions with organizations including, Sacramento County Mental Health Division, New Pathways Counseling and the Intern Counseling Program at CSU East Bay. He has taught Psychology and Human Development courses at St. Mary’s College, Diablo Valley College and continues to serve on the Chemical Dependency Certificate Faculty at CSUEB.
