Pete is the Executive Director at We Care overseeing all areas of operation. A Contra Costa native, Pete joined our agency in 2001 after various positions with organizations including Sacramento County Mental Health Division, New Pathways Counseling, and the Intern Counseling Program at CSU East Bay. He has taught Psychology and Human Development courses at St. Mary’s College and Diablo Valley College. In addition, Pete serves on the Chemical Dependency Certificate Faculty at Cal State University East Bay and chairs the Contra Costa Human Services Alliance.

Erica joined We Care as the Director of Community Engagement in June 2019. She began as a volunteer helping with We Care’s website and serving on the Little Stars Gala Committee, and then took over this position after the retirement of Barbara Langsdale.  Erica worked as the HR/Communications Manager for a local public agency serving school districts for the past 21 years. She also volunteers with non-profits serving children in the bay area.

As Director of Developmental Services, Darcie is in her 12th year helping address the needs of young children through her work at We Care. Starting with the agency as an intern, she now oversees all programs addressing developmental issues. A Contra Costa native, she has spent her career focused on early intervention and is devoted to instilling a family focus throughout the services we offer.

Dr. Kelly Ransom
Director of Mental Health Services

Kelly is We Care’s Mental Health Director and a California licensed Clinical Psychologist. She has a passion for serving young children from birth to age 5 and their families, both as a clinician herself, and in the management of programs and staff dedicated to families. She completed clinical training at the UCSF Infant-Parent Program at San Francisco General Hospital and in the Early Childhood Mental Health Program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland.
